• We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. It is the source of direction for living a Christ-centered life (2 Timothy 3:16).
• We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18).
  
• We believe that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, and rose from the dead three days later.
• We believe that salvation comes through faith only (Eph. 2:8-9).
• We believe the only way a person can be saved is to ADMIT you are a sinner; BELIEVE Jesus died on the cross; CONFESS your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart and life.
  

First Baptist was founded in July of 1929 with 21 charter members. The first meeting place of the church was a vacant room above M&H Hardware Store on the public square. Later in 1929 we moved to North Church Street where we would stay until 1963 when we moved to our present location. FBC is rich with history, but we are also very focused on the future and how we can continue to be used of God to reach people in Sparta TN to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
